Lift

DoES Liverpool is located on the 1st Floor of The Tapestry, which can be reached by using either the stairs or the accessible lift.

The lift can support a maximum payload of either:

  • 1 person in a wheelchair and 1 standing person, or
  • 2 standing people.

The total load of either of these combinations must not exceed 375Kg.

Lift Access

The lift is located towards the back of The Tapestry building. It can be seen to the left of the stairs, as you enter through the front door.

Lift Usage

Calling the lift and travelling between floors

  1. The lift is called by pressing, and holding, the button on the left-hand side of the lift door. The button must continue to be held until the lift fully arrives and stops moving.
  2. The door to the lift can then be opened by pulling it outwards and to the right.
  3. Once inside the lift, ensure the door is closed securely.
  4. Press and hold the button of the floor to which you wish to travel. The button must continue to be held until the lift fully arrives and stops moving.

Lift Maintenance

If the lift alarm is sounding, once it has been confirmed that all issues and/or danger causing the alarm to sound have been remediated, it is possible to reset the lift alarm on-site directly.

  1. Ensure the reason for the lift alarm to sound has been addressed and that there is no risk of harm or injury as a result of using the lift.
  2. Mark / label the lift as out of service if after the alarm has been reset, the lift should not be used until attended by the service and maintenance contract holder A1 Lifts.

  5. Identify the lift maintenance panel cover, which is located to the right-hand side of the lift door.
  6. Identify the triangularly-shaped key spoke on the maintenance panel access key and insert it into the circular key hole at the top of the lift maintenance panel cover.

  18. Remove the lift maintenance panel access key.
  19. Return the lift maintenance panel access key to the top drawer of the light grey metal filing cabinet which is located to the right of the mini drinks fridge opposite the kitchen area.
  20. Record that the lift alarm sounded - and that it was reset on-site - as a new issue on the somebody-should list. The issue must not be closed until The Tapestry have been made aware of the alarm having been sounded; this is an important health and safety point and must not be overlooked.
