• Beekeeping talk which was well attended (especially on social media) and very well received.

Upcoming Events

• Non-Destructive Robot Tournament
  • Forum is up at robotwars.doesliverpool.com, so go there for more info. There will be various coding challenges, and Nuclear Séan and Chris Huffee are in the development stages.

Finances

JM has started producing financial reports from the Freeagent software. It's an homage to Nottinghack's way of releasing the figures.

The first three months reports will be released once the format has been signed off on, which should be today.

Currently, we have a little breathing space after a couple of months of unexpected expenses, although it's not massively plain sailing as we still have to buy carpets for Dinky. The laser tube is still outstanding, owed to JM, although that's not in any rush to be paid back.

• Award Ceremony

  • Someone has nominated us for an Echo award - we don't know who.

  • The other awards news is that we will be presented with an award by Inclusive Economy Liverpool. The ceremony is on the 31st of January, we currently have three attendees (JP, JM, AM). As it's a Thursday, we need to plan what will happen with MakerNight.

We have three more tickets available, any additional are £20.

• Offer of Laser Cutter

  • Someone has emailed us saying that they have a cutter that they're looking for somewhere to house, and would we be interested. It would offer an upgrade on our existing machines, so I've replied seeing if he'd be interested in coming in to have a chat about it.

• Fabric District Arts Festival (working title - This Social Fabric) is in June, and they're looking for submissions as to the sort of thing we might create, as well as finances, etc.

• Software Infrastructure Team has had a productive meeting this month and created plenty of use cases for the type of things that need doing through our administrative software.

• JP is trying to get some people in on Sunday to move the Events Space floor forward, so get it scrubbed and prepped for varnishing/oiling.
