How to report a bug in Sirepo

Remy Poore edited this page Aug 20, 2020 · 1 revision

Reporting a software bug in the Sirepo scientific gateway is easy. We appreciate your input. If you notice a bug while using Sirepo, navigate to the menu bar at the top of your screen.

1. Click on the question mark icon.

This will open a dropdown menu.

2. Click on Report a Bug.

This takes you to the GitHub Issues page for Sirepo at https://github.com/radiasoft/sirepo/issues. RadiaSoft manages all user-reported Sirepo bugs via GitHub Issues.

3. Submit an Issue by clicking on the green New Issue button.

This takes you to the Issues screen.

4. Fill out all the information necessary for our developers to (a) understand what the bug is and (b) recreate it themselves.

Be sure to explain what happens with the bug, how you encountered it, and any other information you think is relevant. (Tip: include the name of the browser you were using when the bug happened.)

5. Click Submit New Issue at the bottom right of the submission box.

Our development team will take a look at it and get back to you via GitHub with any questions.

Note: These directions for reporting a software bug apply for any code on Sirepo, from A to Zgoubi.
