VCUarts has implemented a digital asset management system, giving users the ability to search for and download images to use in communications and marketing materials.

Accessing the DAM

https://assets.art.vcu.edu/ResourceSpace/

Log in with your VCU eID and password. You must be connected to the VCU network or logged in to VPN to access the DAM. There are instructions on how to access the VPN on our website archive guide.

To request access to the DAM, contact VCUarts Web Team at [email protected].

Searching for images

There are two options to search for images in the DAM: a keyword search, or browsing featured collections.

To search:

  • After logging in, use the simple search box on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
  • Search using keywords such as department, location, objects and equipment, and people (i.e., undergraduate, faculty, alumni).
  • Avoid acronyms in search terms; all names are spelled out.

To browse:

  • From the dashboard, select “Featured Collections” in the menu bar, and open the VCUarts collection.
  • Images are organized by department, unit, or themes, such as events, portraits/headshots, and interdisciplinary. The “Stock VCUarts” folder contains images for general use.
  • If the image you are looking for could be represented in multiple collections, you may want to use the search function instead.

Downloading images

  • Select an image by clicking a thumbnail to view the larger image and menu options.
  • Below the image, you have the option of downloading the original JPG, or a smaller image size for social media and other digital uses.
