Load or import

michelleif edited this page Jun 14, 2022 · 3 revisions

This page explains Sinopia's Load RDF feature, for loading (importing) one resource at a time. You can load any resource: a template itself, or the data that goes into a template. See also the Sinopia API documentation for information on posting data to Sinopia using the API.

Tip: to see what kind of RDF Sinopia expects to receive, use the Preview feature on an existing Sinopia resource and choose one of the RDF preview options.

  1. Select Load RDF from the Actions menu.
  2. In the box with the sample text, paste your RDF data in one of the accepted formats. (Load RDF accepts JSON-LD, Turtle, TriG, N-Triples, N-Quads, and Notation3 (N3).)
  3. The subject URI will be ignored, as Sinopia will be creating a new resource with a new URI, and that new URI will be the subject. That's why the example text shows the subject URI as <>. It could be any URI you want.
  4. If your set of statements has more than one subject URI, then you need to tell Sinopia which is the "base" URI; you do that in the second box. You might have more than one subject URI if you have additional statements about an object or a blank node.
  5. Optionally, include a statement that tells Sinopia which template to load the data into, using the http://sinopia.io/vocabulary/hasResourceTemplate property and specifying the Sinopia template ID as the object. If you don't include this statement, Sinopia will prompt you to select a template after you hit Submit.
  6. After you hit Submit, you'll be in the Editor, so you'll need to click Save to save whatever you've loaded.
