For a successful Geoportal Server 1.2.4 installation, follow the steps below.

Step 1: System Requirements

First check that your system meets the requirements specified in the Preinstallation topic.

Step 2: Installation & Configuration

Next, follow all of the steps and guidelines in the Geoportal 1.2.4 Installation Guide. Note: The installation guide is written from a Windows operating system and Tomcat servlet perspective; for other environments, additional documentation is listed below.

Linux

For organizations who plan to deploy the geoportal web application in a Linux environment, use the following resources:

Deploy with WebLogic

For organizations who plan to serve the geoportal web application using WebLogic, see the Geoportal Installation Guide with WebLogic

Deploy with GlassFish

For organizations who plan to serve the geoportal web application using GlassFish, see the Geoportal Installation Guide with GlassFish

Step 3: Post-Deployment Actions

After the Geoportal Server is installed, carry out the Post Deployment Actions.

Customize the Geoportal Server to suit the needs and design of your organization. Many customizations are discussed in the Customizations topic.
