Minecraft
Minecraft servers are being run by rqou. There are two servers planned: a heavily modded one and a vanilla one. The servers will be set up Soon(TM).
- No griefing (breaking other people's structures)
- No stealing
- No cheating (e.g. using fly (without having earned it), x-ray, or duplication bugs)
- Report security bugs in either the IRC bridge or in Minecraft itself to rqou
- Buildings directly on spawn might get seized by eminent domain later
- Do not build frivolous lag machines and do not chunkload excessively - server resources are finite after all
Chat is bridged to ##openfpga on Freenode. All IRC messages are sent to Minecraft, but only messages prefixed with "!" are sent from Minecraft to IRC.

This is a Minecraft 1.7.10 server with rqou's custom magi-tech modpack. This modpack was originally inspired by the DW20/FTB packs several versions ago but did not adopt the increasingly powerful mods that appeared in later DW20/FTB packs.
- BiblioCraft - decorative blocks
- Binnie's Mods (Extra Bees/Trees) - add-on to Forestry genetics
- Biomes O' Plenty - redone world generation and biomes
- Blood Magic - perform sacrifices to get magic
- Botania - perform technology using magic flowers
- BuildCraft - the original pipes and engines mod
- Carpenter's Blocks - decorative blocks

- ProjectRed - much improved redstone for FPGA nerds
- Railcraft - much more advanced rails and minecarts

- MFR biofuel is disabled due to it being excessively cheap to obtain
- OpenBlocks is only enabled for decorative items and crayons. Most items are disabled (notably tanks and liquid XP). Only the following are available:
- Big Button
- Building Guide (and Enhanced)
- Flag
- Grave
- Healer
- imaginary (crayon/pencil)
- Item Dropper
- Jaded Ladder
- Path
- Rope Ladder
- Trophy
- Pedometer
- glasses (for the crayon/pencil blocks)
- Ores come mostly from Thermal Expansion
The first thing to know is that there are more ores available in modded Minecraft. The standard additional ores are: copper, tin, lead, and silver. There are also various other new gems and such. Metal ores can be doubled into two ingots using machines from various technology mods. NEI will be very helpful in explaining how to craft things. The Nether is much more dangerous - be prepared. There's a ton of new liquids in addition to water and lava. The "core" energy source for technology mods is RF - Redstone Flux. Modded Minecraft has leaky abstractions. The most notable is the "ore dictionary," a map of items from different mods that are considered "identical." Do not be alarmed when mod A produces an ingot different from mod B - they should (almost always) be interchangeable. OpenBlocks graves will hold your items after death.
- Ping rqou for whitelisting and for the modpack download link
- Launch the Minecraft launcher and create a profile for version 1.7.10. Play it at least once to download the necessary files.
- Run the Minecraft Forge installer with
java -jar _forge/forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10-installer.jar
and select "Install client." - VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED: Open the Minecraft launcher again and find the Forge profile that was created. Change its "Game Directory" to something else.
- Change the JVM arguments to allocate at least 2GB of RAM using "-Xmx2G"
- Launch the new profile and make sure it launches.
- Dump the "config/" "mods/" and "scripts/" directories from the pack into the game directory for the new profile.
- Launch the profile again. This will take a very long time.
- You should now be able to connect.
- Fix your hotkey conflicts! Note that NEI has hotkeys that are not visible in the normal "Controls" menu

This is a latest vanilla server (currently 1.11.2).
