Notes:

  1. Core Summaries:
    • ATM Update: Not much for the core. Mostly framework (see below).
    • OCN Update:
      • DOE climate effort has been funded.
      • Software engineering is included.
      • Using MODE(s) (forward, analysis, and init (not in next release)).
      • Adding GM and KPP.
      • Working on in-situ visualization from Paraview.
    • Land-Ice Update: No updates.
    • CICE Update: No updates (waiting for pools).
  2. mesh_id attribute: Would like an option to have a deterministic.
  3. Compiler name and flags, maybe target name as attributes. Compiler version as well.
  4. Pools are almost complete:
    • Framework/Operators updates.
    • Implementation of pools is mostly complete.
    • Registry is updated.
    • Ocean and Shallow water cores are updated.
    • Atmosphere and Land-ice cores need to be updated.
  5. Multiple streams at build time
    • Design work should be complete by May 5th.
    • Implemention should be done by May 29th.
  6. May 15th v3.0 Freeze
    • Delay freeze until May 29th.
    • Release will be delayed until ~June 15th.
  7. Paraview Catalyst
    • Put together a document describing the changes involved, and how to use it.
    • If it is tested, it could be included in the next release.
  8. Design discussion related to framework vs. core level improvements.
