FAQ
All information below is strictly for us and this version of RuneScape All information is subject for change if anyone has evidence/proof to backup changes to these questions
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Death#Changes
- If you died to a npc, your items appear instantly to other players for 2 minutes. (Excluding the 3+1 protected items).
- If you died to a player, your items are visible to the killer for 1 minute then goes public. (Excluding the 3+1 protected items).
- Untradable items (such as quest items) will be deleted forever. (Excluding the 3+1 protected items).
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Update:Grand_Exchange_Tax_%26_Item_Sink For those unfamiliar with PvP, when attacking another player you receive a PK Skull marker which lasts for 30 minutes. In this time, it’s possible to get into a fight with someone with 29 minutes and 30 seconds left, causing the marker to disappear during combat. This means that in addition to losing your Skull, there’s a chance your opponent will receive a Skull from hitting you – negating your own risk and adding to theirs. To fix this, we’ve made it so that PvP Skulls no longer time out while in PvP combat.
- Yes. See: https://youtu.be/BkxyTqejJ58?t=34
- If you check on OSRS, these kind of spots were slightly changed later on.
- Many options are temporary in 2004. This includes but not limited to:
- Walk/Running toggle
- Attack style choice
- Autocasting choice
- Bank "Withdraw as item/note" toggle
- Yes
- Does it match up with this video? https://youtu.be/SDSF7PAwP5E
- Yep authentic. Even OSRS has this problem in some areas:
- We aren't sure what it should do either. If you have proof let us know. (It's not a normal tree.) (It's not a demon tree.)
- This is authentic client behavior and yes it's a little annoying.
- This is authentic client behavior. DO NOT DROP YOUR ITEMS HERE!!
- This is authentic. Drop some flax and pick some to escape them!!!
- Also check this out: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Update:Santa,_Flax_and_Castlewars
- Is indeed authentic. See: https://youtu.be/Xud7h207rZc?t=286

- This happens when you held down CTRL key and clicked outside of the client window. Press the key again to unstuck it.
- Common with CTRL and ALT keys.
- Yes this is authentic client behavior.
- No woodcutting requirements for axes in 2004 only attack.

- We can't control how the client renders the models. This is real.
- It does work but the clicking box for it is off center.
- I agree it is annoying too.
- Correct.
- Correct.
- This is authentic. If you do
::debug
you can see your true tile. - Here is an original pic of players catching lobbies in the sand:
- This is also authentic. Most animations during this time stall you (same with npc animations) (client-sided stall).
- Also see the fishing mention above ^
- Off-center item chat boxes are era authentic.
- However we do not have every single proof of every single item.
- We cannot confirm nor deny if some of these are authentic because of lack of evidence.
- Here is an example from where it is centered...
- Here is another example where it is not centered...
- We have a collection of images here: https://github.com/ultraviolet-jordan/noneofyourbusiness but we need to find more.
- If 200 or more unique repositories on GitHub use RuneScript (non-forks), we can actually PR to Github Linguist to add RuneScript language syntax support on GitHub itself.
- The Syntax support is already developed here: https://github.com/2004Scape/RuneScriptLanguage
- That is expected. This is because old RuneScape used the pathfinder generated by the client, and sometimes, due to latency or server bandwidth, the client may be behind the server and runs you back some tiles. This was also a problem in RuneScape, fixed in OSRS in 2015?, fixed in RuneScape in 2009. There are some patch notes about the two.
