Welcome to the boat wiki!

We currently live on a 42 feet sailboat, Rainbow 42, which has been completely rebuilt as fast cruising yacht. However this is not ideal for our purposes, but pretty close for whats doable for us with a mono-hull on the market within our budget. So we have decided to built and design our own boat. Which is a massive undertaking, hence we count on people on the web to point us in the right direction such as on the boatdesign forum.

Requirements

• Needs to be less then 50 feet
• Fit inside 40 feet shipping container for transport
• Cruising speed of 20kt
• Range of 200 nautical miles
• Safety is important
• Low maintenance
• Cheap to haul out of water
• Windows, yes large windows
• -20 to 40C operating temperatures
• Off grid capabilities
• Smart home for comfort
• 2 sleeping rooms

On the market

So obviously there is no such a boat on the market yet however that does not mean we can not take inspiration from whats out there.
