Welcome to the boat wiki!

We did live on a 42 feet sailboat, Rainbow 42, which has been completely rebuilt as fast cruising yacht. However this is not ideal for our purposes, but pretty close for whats doable for us with a mono-hull on the market within our budget. So we have decided to build and design our own boat. Which is a massive undertaking, hence we count on people on the web to point us in the right direction such as on the boatdesign forum.

Requirements

Needs to be less then 50 feet
Fit inside 40 feet shipping container for transport
Cruising speed of 20kt
Range of 200 nautical miles
Safety is important
Low maintenance
Cheap to haul out of water
Windows, yes large windows
-20 to 40C operating temperatures
Off grid capabilities
Smart home for comfort
2 sleeping rooms

On the market

So obviously there is no such a boat on the market yet however that does not mean we can not take inspiration from whats out there.
