Remote Control Access

You can control ScreenStudio using another computer or your smartphone. Noticed the displayed URL at the bottom right of ScreenStudio. Usually it should show: http://Your-Computer-Name.local:8080

If you cannot access the Remote Control Access, make sure that your firewall is not blocking the server (Usually, Windows will ask you to unblock this app when launching ScreenStudio).

You may need to use your IP address instead of the local machine name. In a terminal console, you can get this address using the command:

  • For Windows: ipconfig
  • For Ubuntu/Linux: ifconfig

You local address should usually be 192.168.0.XXX (or 192.168.1.XXX).

Just use your browser to enter: http://192.168.0.XXX:8080 and it should work.

The Remote Control Access is a simple WebApp where you can start and stop the recording. Sources can also be hidden (or shown) by clicking on them.

To reload/update the display, just click on the preview image.

Tip: On the iPhone, you can save the RCA WebApp on your Home screen. It will then look like a local native apps.
