In addition to the previous release, Protest 5.0 introduces the following features:

  • Introduced API link.
  • Added rate-limit for login attempts.
  • Optimizes list windows; they now have faster performance.
  • Handles Reverse proxy errors that occur when an invalid configuration is used.
  • Various UI and animation improvements.

Bug fixes:

  • Fix IP-to-location bug for private addresses.
  • Fix a bug in the SMTP profiles dialog.
  • Fix a bug that causes the build process to fail on Linux and macOS.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

In addition to the previous release, Protest 5.0 introduces the following features:

  • Introduced a Reversed proxy, based on YARP, which can be used as a secured proxy for Pro-test, or as a relay server for other services. (netsh is still supported)
  • Introduced Certificates, mainly used in Reversed proxy.
  • Added Issues, which lists all warning, errors and critical issues detected on Users and Devices.
  • Add an IP discovery tool.
  • Improve the performance of the Port-scan utility.
  • Added a refresh button on Devices and Users
  • Added support for mDNS and SSDP protocols.
  • Add a mini-map and host tooltips in the Ping utility.
  • Backup files now can be directly downloaded from the web interface.
  • Added a DHCP range tab in Settings menu. (used as an indicator in various other tools)
  • Improve Hex viewer UI.
  • Update third-party dependencies.
  • Various UI improvements

Bug fixes:

  • Fix a bug in the Telnet utility that causes the connection to fail.
  • Fix a bug in the Ping utility, which now correctly supports IPv6 ping.

This release includes significant updates and improvements. We've added new features, fixed several bugs, and made performance enhancements to improve the overall user experience.

New features:

  • Migrated from .NET Framework 4.8 to .NET Core 8 for improved performance and modern capabilities.
  • Protest 5.0 is now fully portable with all necessary files included in a single self-contained package.
  • Protest 5.0 is now compatible with Linux and macOS (X64 architecture).
  • Added support for SNMP pooling, enhancing network management capabilities.
  • Introduced a new Grid viewer for better database management.
  • Added a built-in Team chat feature to facilitate collaboration.
  • Added an SSH client terminal.
  • Added a Screen capture tool.
  • Added utilities to test camera and microphone functionality.
  • Added tools to test keyboard and game-pad inputs.
  • Introduced a Hex viewer for most protocols, enhancing analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Lifeline: A new feature that periodically checks your devices and maintains historical data for comprehensive monitoring and analysis.
  • Regional format settings has been added.
  • Adjusted the taskbar indicators to be more distinguishable for individuals with color blindness.
  • The taskbar can now be positioned on any side of the screen.

  • Fixed a bug in Watchdog that caused the timeline to misaligned during daylight saving time changes.
  • DDR3, DDR4 and DDR5 RAM info are now accurately retrieved.
  • Fix information exposure when importing from version 4.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the menu to misbehave in Android Chrome.
  • Fixed a bug where the null-termination character was occasionally included in the hostname when retrieved using NetBIOS.
  • Addressed various minor bugs.
