Room requiremens are similar to the mesoSPIM-V5, except the optical table requirement. The Benchtop mesoSPIM, as its name suggests, can be placed on a sturdy bench, desk, or even a cart.

• The floor should be solid concrete to avoid vibrations from walking.

• Windows should be covered with black curtains or absent.

• Active ventilation is required when working with BABB, DBE, or any other toxic chemicals. Request your facility manager to install a ventilation duct suspended from the ceiling right above your mesoSPIM, with the duct placed close to the immersion chamber.

• Observe all relevant chemical, laser, trash disposal, and fire hazard safety rules of your institute.
