Managing scrollbars
Multiple scrollbars can be saved in the Custom Scrollbars add-on, allowing you to easily switch between different scrollbars while you browse. By default, some standard scrollbars should be added to the settings page when you first install Custom Scrollbars.
Scrollbars can also be linked to specific websites. For more information on this feature, see Using website rules.
Your scrollbars can be managed from the Custom Scrollbars options page.
To add a new scrollbar, click the Add
button in the Scrollbar
section. Your newly created scrollbar will be given a default name, but you can easily change that later (see the Renaming scrollbars section below).
When you have created your new scrollbar, it will automatically be selected in the scrollbar list menu and you can start customizing its appearance. There are a variety of customization options available for you to configure. For more information about customizing the look of your scrollbars, see Scrollbar customization options.
If you no longer want to use a scrollbar, you can remove it using the Remove
button in the Scrollbar
section. Make sure that you have the scrollbar that you wish to remove selected on the scrollbar list menu. You will be asked to confirm your action before the scrollbar is removed.
IMPORTANT: Removing a scrollbar is permanent and cannot be undone.
If the scrollbar you are trying to remove is currently set as the default scrollbar, you will not be able to remove it. You must first set another scrollbar as the default (see the Setting a default scrollbar section below).
If the scrollbar you are trying to remove is currently being used in a website rule, you will be prompted to select a new scrollbar to use for those rules. For more information about website rules, see the Using website rules page.
Your default scrollbar is the scrollbar that will be used on all websites that do not have a specific scrollbar linked to them. To change the default scrollbar, select the scrollbar you want to use from the Scrollbar
section drop-down and press the Set As Default
button.
The same Set As Default
button can also be found in the Custom Scrollbars toolbar button popup. This can also be used to change the default scrollbar.
To edit the name of your scrollbar, you can use the Rename
button in the Scrollbar
section. You will be prompted to enter a new name. Names are case-sensitive and must be unique. If you change your scrollbar name to one that's already in use, numbers will automatically be added to the end of the name.
