Please first use our new online patching page to install: https://smash64.online/remix

If that causes issues, follow the instructions below:

Download and unzip the Smash Remix release file
Take your legally acquired ROM and drag it onto the appropriate icon for your operating system
Example: Windows users, drag your ROM onto windows-drag-here (or windows-drag-here.bat)
Read any dialog windows that pop-up
Find your patched ROMs in the output directory

Special note for OSX users:
Apple has stronger restrictions on running unsigned apps from the Internet. You must perform an extra step before you can drag your ROM onto osx-drag-here. You can see more information here. I recommend the following:

    - There is now a maximum zoom level for camera controls

* Character Select Screen
    - Press L for random character select on VS/12CB

* J Hazards mode renamed to Whispy Mode

ITEMS

* Pitfall added

* Mushroom Changes
    - Increased KO potential
    - No longer instantly damages the player who initially attacks it
    - Fixed crash if spawning while there are already too many items in play

* Blue Shell Changes
    - Fixed crash if spawning while there are already too many items in play

* Franklin Badge Changes
    - Players with a Franklin Badge are now completely immune to projectiles and items
    - Duration changed from 20 > 30 seconds
    - Fixed bug where it deactivates for a frame while the player changes actions
    - Franklin Badge is now cleared from player sooner as when KO'd. May prevent carry-over in 1P team games.
    - Fixed bug in training mode where expiry would allow the player to move while paused
