Another bug fix, its nothing special... :) The Menus were not working the way they meant to if no Favorites 1 folder in the Games folder, the menus stopped working, this is now fixed.

This is a quick bug fix update cause Autoboot Mode was not working properly.

This is a quick update, I forgot to change something and stopped the Modes from working, this fixes that.

This is a Bug Fix version, so fix any bugs in it up to the next version, you will see it change its b number like b5 to b6 if I have found a bug.

You might find that your carousel from the firmware does not load if you remove the PCUAE USB stick, this fixes that too, just download this version then install it to the PCUAE USB stick then deactivate Autoboot Mode and then activate it again and the carousel from the firmware will work again when you remove the PCUAE USB stick,.

And added the Autoboot Mode Screen at first Boot up from Fake Update, you only see it if you run the Fake Update for the first time, but then after that you will not see it again, you can make it show again by deleting the file called autoboot_fake_update_disabled on the root of the PCUAE USB stick.

This is a bug fix version of PCUAE so it fixes some bugs and updates Autoboot Mode.

IMPORTANT

You need to deactivate Autoboot mode first before updating to this version then you can install this then activate Auto Boot Mode again.

Bug Fixes:

PAL-NTSC Video Output Menu has been fixed, it on page 2 in the PCUAE Options Menu.
FIBR the File Browser for TheCarousel v1.0.5, you can play SID Files in it, now only appears on thats carousel and none of the others, no more needing to copy it over, it will disappear if you load another carousel.

New Features are:

PCUAE Firmware Mode(PFM): PCUAE runs inside it own virtual firmware when you enable, it, it can protected the firmware, this makes it easier if I want to add something to the firmware or to the carousel or change the firmware without touching the firmware on the machines.

File Loader and Media Access in the Carousel and Classic Mode do not work in PCUAE Firmware Mode at the moment so you will not be able to see what on your USB stick or load games from it, only load games from the Carousel, if you want to do that you have to disable PFM for now until I find a way round the bug, it still works ok if PFM is not enabled so can still load games that way, hopefully fixed in next version.

PCUAE Restore Toolkit(RT): This was originally called Nand_RW Menu for THEC64 Mini FEL Mode.

This is a updated version of it, you can still download it, it originally has a text based menu, this has being updated to use Dialog.
You will need PFM enabled for it to read and write the NAND, It needs it cause it can not access the NAND if the firmware is running from it, the NAND needs to be unmounted before it can read or write to it, you can read or write the whole NAND from inside PCUAE now, you could only do that in THEC64 FEL Mode with Nand RW Menu.

PCUAE-1.7.6b8 Update

This NEEDS to be installed after you have installed PCUAE 1.7.6b8, it will not work on its own, its only a update, not a full install of PCUAE.

This install only includes a update fix for PCUAE 1.7.6b8 It fixes a bug in one of the scripts that makes it show a black screen if Favorites 1 and C64 0 to G gamelists are added.

What it will do now is if you do not have Favorities_1 folder in the Games folder it will load the carousel from the firmware instead so make sure you add it.

Make sure you install this over PCUAE 1.7.6b8, this is a update only, dose not work by itself.

Modes have been updated too so they work with update 1.6.1.

Fixed The Mode Changer so now works fine, add The Mode Changer and TheCarousel Version Changer to THEC64 Joystick Triangle buttons.

Press and hold Menu button and then press the TL(Triangle Left) button for TheCarousel Version Changer, this will work only on PCUAE Mode, this will change to the Go back to PCUAE Mode shortcut, if you load another Mode, if your in Atari Mode and press the Menu and TL buttons then it will boot up PCUAE Mode.

Press and hold Menu button and then press the TR(Triangle Right) button for The Mode Changer, you can still use the CTRL keys too.

Autoboot Mode is now in The Mode Changer so can now be activated/deactivated or enabled/disabled.

When you load up The Mode Changer, it will now check to see if Autoboot Mode is activated and what Modes are installed on the PCUAE USB Drive before loading the Mode Changer Menu.

The save folder .THEC64SAVE was not mounted in the carousel scripts so was not saving the saves there, so you would only see your save once and then it would disappear.

It should now be fixed, so you can save like normal and you will see the save in .THEC64SAVE folder now.

Some saves are different between carousels versions too, if you save a game on TheCarousel 4ALL v1.3.2 and then try and load it up in TheCarousel v1.5.2, it might look like its not there, its just TheCarousel v1.5.2 can not see it. or read it cause it uses a different name for its save game folder.

More bug fixes.... This one should work fine.

Autoboot Mode Start-Up Script has been updated so please remove it from the firmware and reinstall it, to do this use the Autoboot Mode option in PCUAE Options Menu.

This should work been installed over the top of other PCUAE versions but it recommended to do a clean install to remove old flag files that are now not needed anymore, just remove PCUAE files only and keep the games folder, if you have exported them from PCUAE Manager, If you have installed the modes you can keep them too, but not PCUAE_Mode,, thats included with this setup, you will need to delete that folder, then it will get updated properly, the mode folders are... AMIGA_Mode, ATARI_Mode, Linux_Mode, RA_Mode and VICE_Mode, they are in the Options folder and then delete everything else in the Option folder.

Once that's done you can install this version of PCUAE to the USB stick/SD Card and still have the Games and Modes.

Alot of bug fixing and fixing the Black Screen Bug that was made by USB Mode and >/dev/ttySO comments in the scripts.

Gadget Mode's Auto USB Mode has been now moved to TheCarousel so will load up when enabled and only on THEC64 Maxi/THEVIC20(Amora, Ares or Snowbird) carousels, I moved it so it does not interfere with PCUAE loading up,.
It will not work with THEC64 Mini, its a shame, I would like to get it to work with it but its not possible right now... :(.

To enable USB Mode you enable it in PCUAE Options Menu or Mode Changer under Gadget Mode/USBM(USB Mode running in the background).
