Performance Issues

From time to time, the responsiveness of AudioKit Synth One can become sluggish. Though we have done everything in our power to make the app as efficient as possible, it is a demanding app on your hardware. We recommend you take the following steps in order to improve the performance of the app if you are suffering performance issues:

  • Quit all other running apps on your iPad: Double-tap on your iPad home button to show the currently running apps, and swipe up on each app in order to quit that app.
  • Quit AKS1 and relaunch it.
  • If you have any external devices (MIDI, USB, or other connected devices):
    • Unplug and reconnect each device.
    • Restart each external devices.
  • Restart your iPad by holding the power button down until the iPad shuts down, and press it again to restart it.
  • Lastly, consider upgrading your iPad to a newer model (this is definitely a last resort!)

Volume Issues

Sometimes AKS1 might sound distorted. Though some patches are intentionally programmed this way, it's not always the case, or desired. Try these steps to minimize or eliminate unwanted distortion:

  • Turn the Volume of the iPad down slightly.
  • Turn the Master Volume dial down slightly.
  • Turn the Noise Amp dial down slightly.
  • Adjust the Bitrate Crusher level, or turn Bitcrush off.
  • Adjust the DCO1 and DCO2 Volumes.
  • Run through the Performance Issues troubleshooting steps above.

If you are sill having issues with the app which are not resolved by the details listed here, please send bug reports to [email protected]
