An advanced connection port for the Digital Storage Unit. It can be set to input/output from any platform remotely within the map.
The I/O Port
is a building that can be used to interact with items stored in a Digital Storage Unit
(Including the Remigrated Varint) and the the Archival Storage Unit.
To use it, it must be linked to a Storage Unit (same map only). (it may only be linked to one Storage unit at any given time)
The I/O Port
supports two modes of operation Input
and Output
Pawns and machines may use that port to Input any item that is allowed in the Linked Storage. An Unlimited amount of Pawns and or machines may use an Input Port at the same time.
In the Output Mode the Port may Output any item stored in the Storage unit. You can configure the Port to only output a Specific item or a Group of items.
Note: Only the item that is currently on top of the port is accessible from that Position.
You may set limits on an Output port.
- There is the Option to set a minimum (useful when working with a
Group of items
) - There is the Option to set a Maximum
While only the Item on top is accessible, there are still cases where it can be useful to allow a group of items.
For example for a Cooking setup you may want Vegetarian and Meat Products. This can be handled with 2 Ports, one for meat and one for Vegetarian.
Usually it's not important what kind of meat or Vegetarian items is available, you just need some
If a Port is placed next to a Nutrient paste dispenser, it may be used as an hopper for it. This also applies to other mods if they use the Vanilla
