My dotfiles
- git >= 1.7.10 (for
[include]
syntax)
Clone this repository to $HOME/dotfiles
git clone https://github.com/yanhan/dotfiles.git
And run the setup_home_folder_dotfiles.py
script with one or more of the
following args:
- bashrc
- coc-settings.json
- gitconfig
- init.vim
- nvim
- tmux.conf
- vimrc
- zshrc
eg. to setup gitconfig
, nvim
, tmux.conf
, and zshrc
, run:
python setup_home_folder_dotfiles.py gitconfig nvim tmux.conf zshrc
NOTE: For nvim
, most of the contents of the ~/.config/nvim
dir will be removed without backing up the original files. Please exercise caution before running with that argument.
Clone packer.nvim:
git clone https://github.com/wbthomason/packer.nvim "${HOME}"/.local/share/nvim/site/pack/packer/start/packer.nvim
For Mac users, if you see an error about missing xcrun, run:
xcode-select --install
NOTE: Each time you update the contents of the nvim-lua directory, you have to run the following command:
python setup_home_folder_dotfiles nvim
so that the changes will be reflected.
Start neovim and run:
:PackerSync
:Mason
:PackerSync
installs the neovim plugins we want, using the Packer plugin manager.
:Mason
installs the LSP servers we specified in nvim-lua/after/plugin/lsp.lua
Sometimes, there will be a need to run:
:TSUpdate
if you are facing errors similar to: https://stackoverflow.com/q/70373650
NOTE: These are instructions for classic vim, not neovim.
Run:
./install-vim-plugins
Then start vim and run:
:GoInstallBinaries
:CocInstall coc-tsserver
Run the provision-ubuntu-ansible repo to install the libffi6 library.
Then run:
pip3 install --user neovim-remote
Currently, we only support setting up neovim.
