In this document, you will find the first steps in the configuration of your device. All the steps are being executed on a computer with Windows 10 installed. Remember to read the requirements for your device.

Requirements

The recommended requirements to use the device connected to a computer are as follow:

Operative system Windows 8.1 or higher
Processor Intel Core I7 3.1 GHz or higher x64
RAM 4 GB
Graphics driver Graphics driver support for OpenGL 4.4 or DirectX 11.0
Graphics card NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1050 or equivalent
USB connector USB 3.0 port this is very important
Additional Along with the device, you should use an adapter for connecting the device directly to the PC

Basic Install

  1. Connect the device properly to the adapter.
  2. Connect the adapter to the computer using a USB 3.0 port. To verify which port your computer has, search for Device Manager in your Windows applications and check the Universal Serial Bus Controller menu.
  1. The computer will recognize your device, and it will automatically install the drivers for your Kinect V2. Check the links section in this page if you have trouble.
  2. Once the process is finished and the system confirms the installation of the device with the message “Your device is ready,”.
  3. Download the Kinect for Windows SDK. You can alternatively search for it on the Internet as Kinect SDK 2.0.
  1. Install the program.

Testing configuration

  1. Search in the computer the SDK
  1. Open the SDK program.
  1. Select the option Kinect Configuration Verifier
  2. Confirm in the last item of the verification, that you are receiving both the RGB and the depth streams
