Notes on the repo

• All of our episode notes are available in episode_notes
• Our music files are located in music
• Index files and back end stuff is located in xml_stuff

Recording Workflow

• We use Source Connect Now to talk to each other with low latency.
• We run Audio Hijack on our macs to record our audio to mp3 files.

New Episode Workflow

• After a new episode file is ready, these are the steps I go through to add a new episode to the podcast.
• Add the mp3 file to our AWS S3 bucket.
• Update the itunes.xml file.
  • I have a script that calculates the fields necessary to add a tnew <item> section, you can see the source code here.
  • The XML links to the file on S3, and uses the prefix for tracking with Podtrac.
• With the itunes XML file ready, I push it to this repo
• Validate the XML

• With any errors fixed, I push changes to this repo, then update in iTunes, pasting in theraw GItHub URL to the itunes.xml file.
