Follow these steps to set up Gmail ChatGPT Assistant in your Chrome browser:

Download the Extension:
- Clone or download this repository to your computer.

Open Chrome Extensions Page:
- Go to
chrome://extensions/in your Chrome browser. - Enable Developer mode (toggle found in the top-right corner of the page).

Load the Unpacked Extension:
- Click on Load unpacked and select the folder where you downloaded/cloned this extension.

Set Up Your OpenAI API Key:
- Once installed, click the extension icon in Chrome’s toolbar.
- In the popup, enter your OpenAI API key (you can get it from OpenAI’s website) and click Save.
- Your API key will be securely stored within the extension.

Use the Extension in Gmail:
- Open Gmail in Chrome.
- Click on the extension icon to launch the sidebar in Gmail.
- Gmail ChatGPT Assistant will be available as a sidebar within Gmail, where you can:
- Read the current email thread.
- Provide any guidance on the tone or content of the response you want.
- Click Generate Response to get a ChatGPT-generated email suggestion based on the thread and your input.
- Open an Email Thread in Gmail.
- Enter Desired Response Style: In the sidebar, type any guidance for ChatGPT on how you’d like to respond.
- Generate Response: Click Generate Response, and your suggested email will appear in the sidebar.
- Copy or Edit the Response: You can copy the response to your clipboard and paste it directly into your Gmail reply box.
