I'm curious if there's any interest in merging this PR if the build errors could be cleaned up. We use markdown-it-sanitizer and have interest in a fix for #8, but even better being able to manage the allowed tags. it seems like there's been more general consideration of this, but this PR seems to be languishing. |

Added additional customization options. I needed the ability to restrict images, but adding extra stuff makes sense.
