usyslogd is a micro syslog implementation that basically listens to the syslogd UDP port and transparently calls syslog(3)
For a minimal size, it is designed to compile with the musl libc a be statically linked. An easy way to achieve that is to simpy use
make CC=musl-gcc LDFLAGS=-static
It is designed to be used with systemd.
sudo cp usyslogd.service /etc/systemd/system/ sudo systemctl enable usyslogd sudo systemctl start usyslogd
There is currently no configuration possible for the sake of extreme simplicity & robustness.
It actually calls syslog(3), but doesn't parse the priority of the incoming message, so it isn't handled correctly.
