v0.19.1
Pre-release
Pre-release
This public alpha release features:
- Improved app sign in experience
- Improved navigation
- A new link to a support website
- A new reset browser option that can also be used to reset your password
- A Blockstack ID completion indicator
- Bug fixes and other improvements
NOTE: The new bitcoin wallet is stored in the browser and secured by the same key as your identity. This is a change from prior versions where we were the bitcoins were stored in a separate wallet from your identity. To migrate the bitcoins from follow the instructions here.
Windows Build
- This release of the Windows installer runs natively, however, it does not support purchasing names, using our storage system with applications, or using the bitcoin wallet -- this is a leaner application experience that supports creating a profile, adding social verifications, transfering Onename addresses to the Browser identity wallet, and now authentication with applications that do not use Blockstack's storage system.
- Previous Windows builds used an installation of Docker to execute background daemons for the Blockstack Browser, this supported the authentication, name purchasing, and bitcoin wallet features.
- Trying to install docker and the containers automatically resulted in a lot of problems, and we believe that a native experience for Windows will provide a much better overall experience.
- In the future, the Windows build will support all of our features, natively
- Adventurous developers can still use the launcher script to help set up a Docker environment
- This release is signed by "Blockstack PBC"
Linux/Docker Script
- The Blockstack-for-Linux.sh script can be used to start a Blockstack Browser daemon on Linux and other environments supporting Docker
- Using the script requires setting up Docker beforehand
- run
./Blockstack-for-Linux-v0.19.1.sh help
for instructions on using the script
Known issues
These will be fixed in an upcoming release:
- Dropbox support is temporarily disabled in this release. It will be re-enabled in a future release. #908
Names purchased in a pre-release version prior to v0.10.0 will need to be transferred to the production keychain location with a future tool.
