Fasten is an application that lets users exercise their Patient Access rights under HIPAA and the 21st Century Cures Act Final Rule. Fasten is an open-source, self-hosted, personal/family electronic medical record aggregator, designed to integrate with 100,000's of insurance companies, healthcare providers and laboratories. It securely connects patient healthcare providers together, creating a personal health record that never leaves the patient's hands without their consent.
Fasten has a small but growing community of diverse users -- not just technologists, but doctors, lawyers, govt policy makers, healthcare consultants -- all trying to find ways to empower patients and use Fasten to serve their communities.
Our primary goal is to help patients to understand and answer questions about their health:
- What is my medical history? What were my past illnesses, surgeries and medical procedures?
- What are my current medications? How long have I been on them, and what dosages was I prescribed?
- What were the results from my recent lab tests? How have my lab results changed over time?
- What diseases am I immunized against, and when am I due for a booster?
- What is my family medical history, and which inherited conditions should I be screened for?
- How can I find contact information for previous healthcare providers?
Fasten needs funding to grow and direct the open-source community's effort in this space.
