Cyberization is a comprehensive prosthetic and bionic mod giving users many more options than vanilla or other mods. The design goal is simple, add an in-depth and easy to use mod that enhances the prolific narrative component of Rimworld. The constraints are also simple: minimal micromanagement and unnecessary content bloat.
Key Inspiration Sources: Ghost in the Shell, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, Expanded Prosthetics and Organ Engineering (EPOE) Mod
If a technological feat is possible, man will do it. Almost as if it's wired into the core of our being.
Cyberization has features other prosthetic mods do not. Many parts increase the body part efficiency but also others confer abilities such as stat specific stat increases. Some of the strongest parts come with special abilities. The brave can choose to replace an arm with a plasma arm cannon. These powers do not come without trade-offs and consideration, however. No longer is choosing a part option a case of the most advanced parts everywhere.
Cyberization offers multiple tiers of parts available at various tech levels:
- Primitive Prosthetics (Always available options)
- Simple Prosthetics (Early industrial)
- Robotic Prosthetics (Powered, Late industrial)
- Bionics (Powered, Spacer)
- Ultratech Bionics (Powered, Spacer+, purchase only)
- Archotech Bionics (Powered, Post-spacer, quest reward only)
Producible parts will be made on vanilla's existing benches to not add an excess of equipment. Bionics are fabricated and the rest are machined. The parts are in-line with the expectation of Vanilla's gameplay experience.
- Parts no longer heal like biological parts (except for Archotech parts)
- Several new body slots are added to allow additional implants to be installed into the body
- Powered parts exist that draw power from an implanted or wearable power source
- Parts require maintenance to keep functioning at their specification
- Non-maintained parts will breakdown
- Parts can suffer breakdowns as a random story event (because Randy doesn't hate you enough already)
- Lower-tier powered parts suffer during solar flares
