Notes and Ideas for Infinity Desktop!

This is a place were we can gather our thoughts, ideas and things to do.

Get a list of all applications to be installed by default, i.e. Firefox, Libreoffice, etc
1. Maybe provide several categories, like developer, home, office, sysadmin
Document what needs to be configured for window manager and applications to run correctly. For example services to be launched in rc.conf and locale and/or changes to login.conf, .xinitrc
Settle on default desktop.
- SETTLED: Openbox as an option as primary desktop and default for ARM boards.
- MAYBE: FVWM
- NOPE: Mate and Gnome looks like a good option; however, everyone seems to be using Mate, which is not a bad thing.
- NOPE: Enlightenment. This looks like a modern desktop but runs a little slow.
Document configuration of desktop, i.e. themes, taskbar, et al.
- Note, if we go with slim, it will have to be compiled. Maybe create an installable and submit for pkgsrc install?
- gdm is pkgin ready, but will need to compare any advantages or disadvantages against slim.
Final step before adding stuff to the installer. Create an install script to setup the console.
