The scenario should be demonstrable in WP6. Each trial site can simulate one or more service provider domains, eg 1 or 2 Smart Cities, Communication Service Providers, Network Service Providers, Identity Providers, App Providers, Legal regulators. The scenario should show the impact of reTHINK concepts will have in the economic sphere and in society in general, especially in the European community. Improved balance between security and privacy to face eg terrorism

City of Bersabon

(description to be continued, e.g. concerning required technical elements like sensors) Please all team members place your ideas and enrich the Smart City Scenary _JS: The following or some domains of a smart city scenario shall be used: Smart Economy, Smart Mobility, Smart Environment, Smart Governance, Smart People, Smart Lving. _

DE: A lot of this actually should be going into "Usage Scenarios". In my opinion, a setting the scene is hardly more than one paragraph to describe the environment all usage scenarios are taking place in. Some kind of "it was a dark and stormy night ..."

Bersabon is a typical European city situated at a medium size river and a population of 750 thousand citizens. The city is well known for its cultural institutions, parks or nightlife and is therefore not only attractive for its citizens but also for tourists. To enhance quality of life, the city council puts much effort in various future topics, like reduction of traffic pollution.

In order to receive real time information on City conditions the authorities use a variety of different kinds of sensor data. For example to reveive air quality data, in each of the 16 neighborhoods a variety of sensors are in use. They are located along some radial highways but also at some main places. Some sensors are located in streetlights to validate current traffic, measure air quality or to provide information about available parking spots.

Furthermore city authoriies use video surveillance to keep the city safe and secure. Public transportation companies use video surveillance to provide a new service called "Bus in time", where video cameras check the number of people waiting at bus stops. This enables them to react on peak times or in case special events happen.

In addition they launched a mobile city app called “Participate”, which provides local static and real time information, exchange possibilities between government authorities and citizens or between citizens themselves and enables citizen participation via a voting function. The city plans to integrate heatmaps providing real time information from their city sensors into Participate, e.g. providing information on the air quality across the city.

City authorities followed citizen request for mobile open government and provide a variety of services not only online but also on their mobile. This enables citizens not only to up and download information but also to get in touch with city authorities during opening times from their mobile website. To use the service citizens receive a unique and anambigous identity upon request from the city. Bersabon citizens use this unique ID at a variety of city institutions.

Two examples are the local Kindergarten and School, where parents can contact and steer video cameras in order to see if their child is still at the institute.

Since the City managed to establish a future driven mindset, most people use smartphones and a bustling digital start up scene has established. City authorities encourage them to develop and test new ideas easily, so they allowed a drone based delivery service called "Direct your drone", enabling real time location based delivery of goods to reduce the CO2 footprint of the city. The service allows customers to redirect a drone towards the customers' location in real time!

It is Wedenesday and we follow some citizens and visitors of Bersbon, which are 31 year old Alice, her friend Bob being 33, 29 year old Lisa, Peter a 45 year old head of an event agency, the student tourist Frank aged 23 and the family of 36 year old Marie.
