The following are examples of use cases of the OGC Definitions Server, based on the registers it contains.
- UC1: Harmonizing observational data collected by different sensors from different manufacturers
- UC2: Conflation of pipeline data from different Utilities networks
- UC3: Authentication of OGC web services across an enterprise federation
