This page provides informative examples of how OGC names can be used in metadata, data and other resources.
Below is an example of how the persistent URI for WMS 1.3.x (http://www.opengis.net/doc/is/wms/1.3) could be used within the CI_OnlineResource element of ISO 19139. The structure of the persistent URIs is presented in OGC 09-047r3 on the OGC-NA policies web page.
