A list of models and related properties that are needed:
This is growing out of conversations in Define goals [meta] and Starting rough: a versioned JSON dump.

| family | it could give tips for associations and a bit structuring |
| inherits / is_a | The id of another crop to inherit data from. / Or is_a if we consider parent crop is a generic crop. |
| seeding depth | How deep do seeds need to be planted? |
| germination time | How many days before seeds germinate? |
| days to maturity | How many days before harvest begins? |
| frost tolerance | How tolerant is the crop to cold weather? |
| water needs | Will I have to water often ? Unit ? Only high / medium / low |
| ph / ph_limit | preferred ph of the soil, well, it's hard to change the ph of your soil ... or forbidden ph / ph limit if this exists sometimes |
| exposure | sun - shadow - full sun |
| spacing | How closely can individual plants be grown? |
| method of planting | Direct seed? Transplant? Maybe this doesn't belong in a crop database because it is more up to the grower... |
| yield per plant | Approx. how much yield can be expected on average? |
