How to Add a New Tag in the Data Browser After a Request
The request to add a new tag will arrive via email at [email protected], specifying the tags to be added and the datasets they should be associated with.
When you receive this request, first check if the specified tags already exist in the dataset. If they do not, proceed to add them, associating each with the specified datasets provided in the email.
To create a new Tag, navigate to the Databrowser webpage and log in, as you’ll need special access to create tags. Find the dataset named “Open Data Hub Tags.” Use this direct link to access it: https://databrowser.opendatahub.com/dataset/table/tourism/v1/Tag
On the dataset page, click the “Add a record” button.
In the “Main Data” section, input the tag name as specified in the request email.
Below, there is a box titled “Types”, click on “Add new”
Select the type of the Tag, which provides additional classification for the tag beyond the “Valid for Entity” field. This helps further categorize tags for filtering and understanding their purpose.
For example:
- Gastronomy Tags: Types might include cuisinecodes, facilitycodes, dishcodes, or gastronomycategory, distinguishing the context or application of the tags.
- Event Tags: Types might include eventtopic, eventtag, or eventclassification, clarifying the nature of each tag within a broader category.
This classification is especially useful when multiple datasets share similar tags but need further differentiation.
In the “Valid for Entity” box, add each dataset provided in the email for which the tag should be applicable. Here all values which normally are in the _Meta.Type field can be added.
On the section “Active on Source” select “true”. At the bottom of the page, under “Source”, select the source of the new tag, typically this should be “NOI AG”
Now, select the section “License” on the menu on the left side of the page.
If the source of the tag is “NOI AG”, put “CC0” as “License”, put “https://noi.bz.it/” as “License Holder” and select “False” for “Closed Data”.
