Incidental lung cancer prediction

This study aims to predict the likelihood of future lung cancer for individuals with a smoking history of more than 20 pack years. The goal is to identify candidates who may require further evaluation, such as a chest CT scan, to detect lung cancer. We attempted to create a predictive model using the CXR-LC model and the PLCO dataset. However, we faced challenges due to the low quality of chest X-ray images, and it may inherently be challenging to estimate future lung cancer events based solely on chest X-ray images and demographic information.
