It includes two steps: iris segmentation and iris normalization. Iris segmentation is the process of isolating the iris which contains the unique features of the eyes ina n individual. Iris normalization is when the segmented iris region is unwrapped-converted from Cartesian to Polar coordinates, using a newly derived formula, based on Daugman's Rubber-Sheet. model.
