Call for volunteers

Hello CFA and broader civic tech community! The Open Raleigh Brigade has been working hard on designing an application that will make campaign finance more accessible and transparent in our state. We’re appreciative of the help we’ve gotten from myriad volunteers and are looking to speed toward a formal launch in the next couple of months.

To that end, though, we need help. We are hoping a few of you might be willing to step up and help with tasks. We’re looking for a few volunteers for between 1 and 4 hours per week until early December to help with some front end and back end tasks:

Front end: Experience in JS, React and/or Node. See our Github for specific tasks.

Back end: Experience in Node.js and PostGresSQL.

Marketing and PR: Experience in any advertising and/or marketing campaigns for any purpose.

Data: Experience in Python and SQL. Willing to take ownership of longer term goals and objectives related to data pipeline.

Read more about our project here.

It’s an exciting time to get involved and we’d love to have you! Please attend our next regular Meetup on Tuesday, October 5, at 6 p.m. for an intro session and breakout groups to get rolling. If you would like to be added to our listserve and Slack, please email project facilitator Jeremy Borden at [email protected].

TLDR/Social Media: PLEASE SHARE this volunteer opportunity! The Open Raleigh Brigade is pushing toward launching a new application that will help all North Carolina citizens and we need your skills and help on front/back end, #data, #marketing #NodeJS #PostGresSQL. See more here.
