My main motivation for this is seeing the deprecation warnings when upgrading in a development environment. Rather than applying a fix after each update or managing a patch possibly with cweagans/composer-patches (my fallback if this is not accepted), it would be better to fix the deprecation issues at the source. Yes, I know that deprecation warnings can be turned off; however, I prefer to see them since they turn into errors in later versions of PHP.
