Initial conda step gets stuck on solving the environment unless you install them individually

The initial conda installation fails to solve the environment. However, I was able to get it to work If I ran them one at a time.

step that fails

conda install -c bioconda bcftools samtools prodigal pysam bioconductor-rsamtools bioconductor-biostrings

works this way

conda install -c bioconda bcftools
conda install -c bioconda samtools
...
conda install -c bioconda bioconductor-biostrings
