- Added a check to ensure `mutation_sequence` is not `None` before appending with `+= '&' + temp_mutation` in both `hmm_alignment.py` and `vntr_finder.py`. - This prevents a `TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for +=: 'NoneType' and 'str'` when merging adjacent deletions.
