It appears that sysreqs is not baked into rhub/debian-gcc-release:latest, so I'll have to add it and also make it install into $HOME.

On R-hub we run sysreqs outside of the container, because the container runs as a regular user for the package check, so it cannot install system packages. This way, we can also change containers and sysreqs independently.

I am not sure if this is relevant for you, though.

or maybe use RStudios https://github.com/rstudio/r-system-requirements instead.
