A Chrome extension that pauses all those lost youtube tabs when you open a new one (or resume one).
- Download a copy
- Go to chrome://extensions
- Ensure developer mode is ticked
- "Load unpacked extension..."
- Select the folder of this download
-
Investigate event pages instead of background page? Will need to store registered tab ids though. And I doubt this extension is likely to be run on very low memory devices.
-
If a video is playing and a new one is loaded, pause the new one and continue playing one. Then pause playing one if the new one is unpaused.
-
Add browser action popup
- Have an option to swap which video is paused when a new one is started (playing one or new one)
- List the open videos
- Indicate which is the currently playing video
- Have a play button beside each to pause current and play selected
- Link from list to focus/activate tab
- Show options, or a link to a settings page
-
Add queue functionality
-
Right click youtube video links to "add to queue", or "play next"
-
Right click youtube video links to "open paused"
-
In popup, allow rearranging of videos and playing all like a playlist
Page transitions:
- video to video
- video to non-video youtube page
- non-video youtube page to video
