Consomic Crossbreeding (CCB)_ (under construction)

1. CCB.py - Main CCB Simulation

  • Implements consomic crossbreeding (CCB) simulation in cattle.
  • Models QTL effects for milk production and adaptation traits.
  • Simulates conventional vs. consomic crossbreeding strategies.
  • Uses genome-wide SNP inheritance patterns to track trait selection.
  • Generates statistical outputs and visualizations.

2. CCB_1.py - Improved CCB Model

  • Enhances CCB simulation with refined genetic parameters.
  • Incorporates realistic genetic architecture and QTL effects.
  • Uses heritability-based variance modeling for trait predictions.
  • Evaluates multi-generation trait stability in crossbreeding.
  • Produces comparative breeding strategy statistics.

3. ccb_b-casein.py - Beta-Casein QTL Transfer

  • Simulates beta-casein QTL transfer from Holstein-Friesian (HF) to Gir cattle.
  • Models chromosome-specific inheritance for milk protein enhancement.
  • Assesses genotypic and phenotypic changes in consomic individuals.
  • Generates adaptation and milk yield comparisons across breeding strategies.

4. QTLdb_chickenGG4.txt - QTL Database

  • Contains chicken QTL information related to growth, production, and adaptability.
  • Lists chromosome locations for key quantitative trait loci (QTL).

5. CCB Aseel-Leghorn Simulation

This script simulates egg production and body weight in different chicken breeds, including Leghorn, Aseel, Conventional, and CCB (Chromosome 13 substituted). The simulation generates synthetic data and visualizes trait distributions.
