In 2013, @jtnimoy tried writing Rigglin but with a limited knowledge of JS, Closure, Gulp, and with a mature of p5js, the project had to be put down in favor of more pressing projects. I am back on this project again.
The project aims to bring a new level of accessibility in the ways of teaching/learning to code. As a teacher, I saw that people were having a hard time with basic Java language issues while what they should have been focusing on is the wonderment of their for-loop. Remembering things like the difference between stroke
, setStroke
, and strokeColor
became a bottomless pit of student bugs. Blockly aims to provide the training wheels necessary to allow that potential growth to happen without the cumbersome memorization of new vocabulary and syntaxes.
