A simple gem to rotate your aws access keys.
$ gem install aws-rotate-keys
$ aws-rotate-keys
That will:
- connect to your aws account using
~/.aws/credentials
or environment variables - create a new access key
- backup
~/.aws/credentials
- write the new key to
~/.aws/credentials
- delete your oldest access key from aws
Sample output:
Creating access key...
Writing new access key to ~/.aws/credentials
Deleting your oldest access key...
You're all set!
We've noticed that the environment variables AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID and
AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY are set.
Please remove them so that aws cli and libraries use ~/.aws/credentials
instead.
