In addition to the operations described in the assignment, I added the following:

different names for the same operations (mostly Unicode names, so that the operations match the math)
domain-specific pattern-matchers (using extractors), to allow users to pull apart regular expressions in the same way that they put them together

With these extra pieces, I re-wrote RegexMatcher.matches so that it reads almost exactly like the mathematical definition provided for matching.
