The word "inválido" is actually right according to the official Spanish's language academy. It is a polysemic word (a word with two or more meanings). And these are two of the meanings:

Said of a person: who suffers from a physical or mental defect, whether congenital or acquired, that prevents or hinders any of their activities

Null and of no value, for not having the conditions required by law
