A Ruby Gem designed to expedite: the git tagging procedure and updating a changelog
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'git_tagger',
tag: "1.1.8",
git: "https://github.com/eschlange/git_tagger.git"
Add the following code to the project's Rakefile:
git_tagger = Gem::Specification.find_by_name "git_tagger"
load "#{git_tagger.gem_dir}/lib/tasks/deploy.rake"
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install git_tagger
Within the root directory of your application

For full Rails applications:
rake deploy:tag

For Ruby Gems:
bundle exec rake deploy:tag
- Fork it ( https://github.com/eschlange/git_tagger/fork )
- Create your feature branch (
git checkout -b my-new-feature
) - Commit your changes (
git commit -am 'Add some feature'
) - Push to the branch (
git push origin my-new-feature
) - Create a new Pull Request
