Classic electrifier was an open-source project which extended Windows File Explorer ®️ by

Classic electrifier was in early development stages - most featureswerw work in progress or just plans for the future

Originally, the project was started back in 2004, using .NET-framework 1.0 and Windows XP. However, due to a system crash, I lost all my data, including the source-code, which was stored on a software RAID-5.
Meanwhile I managed to restore those lost artefacts, converted them to Visual Studio 2019 and .NET 4.6 and relaunched the development cycle.

To run electrifier, you supposedly need nothing except a running Windows Operating System, Vista SP1 or above. The .NET-framework should be installed due normal Windows-Update cycle.
- Install Visual Studio Community 2019 using at least the following Workloads:
.NET desktop development
Desktop development with C++
(Required for the Ribbon Ressource Compiler)
- Download the sources to extract them into an empty folder
- From there, use
electrifier/src/electrifier.sln
to open the project solution in Visual Studio - In Solution Explorer, right-click
Solution 'electrifier' (3 projects)
toRestore NuGet Packages
- In Solution Explorer, right-click project
electrifier
toSet as StartUp Project
- Hit
F6
-key toBuild Solution
- Violá! In case you reached so far without ciritical errors, you've just successfully built electrifier 👍

. Since electrifier will start with a blank UI at present, clickNew Panel
from the ribbon to open a fresh electrifier Shell Browser window
