Since a lot of time has passed and Mongoid is not currently supported, I'm going to recommend closing this and asking that Mongoid support is limited to a fork. If you're able to confirm you're using a forked version of this gem with Mongoid in production, and are able to ensure all the specs currently pass, there are new specs for Mongoid, that would be compelling evidence to introduce Mongoid.
